If only Mallory can be as cute as this sweet girl...

Here are some pictures my Aunt Melanie took of Alexia, my niece, on the 4th of July. She is so cute and talking up a storm. Don't you love the curly hair? (Even though my sister in law says it is not curly!!) Here is a picture of Alexia and some of my cousins' children at my Mammaw's looking at one of her cows. Now you can't say that her hair is not curly!! Too cute!

Bedding for Baby Mallory

I decided on bedding for Mallory's room! It is from Target and is by Circo. It is called Mix and Match Brown Flowers. I will be doing the room in the shades of pink, green, brown, and tan in the bedding! I think it is really cute, and I know Mallory is going to love it!

A name for our baby girl....

I think I finally talked Kendall into us using the name I picked out. As of now, our baby's name will be Mallory Anne Carman. Sorry Auston...he suggested that I name her Isabella (which is the name of one of his best friends from school.) Can't you just picture cute lil Mallory with blonde curly hair?

It's a Girl!!

I had a sonogram this morning, and we found out that we are having a baby girl!! My mom and Kendall went with me. She is developing normally and all of her organs looked great! She was moving around a lot! We feel so blessed to get such a great report. I am going to try to get a picture from the sonogram scanned soon to post. There was a great profile shot of her!

It's been a while...and pregnancy updates

So...I have really neglected blogging lately. Things got busy with the end of school, then with summer here the last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of a computer. How ironic that now that is what I do all day long now (at least until school starts back.) I am filling in for the receptionist at my dad's office who is on maternity leave. The extra money I make from this job will be used to spoil our baby! So onto the baby updates...I am 19 weeks pregnant today. I have really had a great pregnancy so far. I started feeling the baby move this week, but it is mostly at night when I lay down to go to sleep. It is such an amazing feeling. We find out the sex of our baby next Wednesday! I can't wait. Kendall is really wanting a boy, but I don't really have a preference. Hopefully, I can find the cord to connect my digital camera to the computer and post some cute pictures I have of Auston and Alexia from this summer.

A Prayer Request

The ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher at my school is fighting for her life right now. She is in much need of prayer as she is battling stage 4 breast and bone cancer. She is an amazing lady, teacher, and friend. She always has a smile on her face (even now) and has the best life. She knows just how to cheer everyone up and brightens everyone's day. My kids love Mrs. Lily (even the ones she doesn't tutor.) She is a wife and a mother of 3 young children. Even though she is fighting cancer and going through chemo she is still coming to school as much as possible. Friday all the teachers at my school all wore pink in honor of her and tomorrow we are all wearing bandannas or scarfs because she is starting to lose her hair. Please pray for her strength to fight this and for her family and friends. Miracles can happen!!

Happy Anniversary to US!!

December 30, 2006
Tomorrow is our two year anniversary and I can honestly say that it has been an interesting 2 years! I am so lucky to have Kendall in my life! As most of you know, after Kendall and I had been married for 10 months, I fell and broke my leg and had surgery. I was pretty much helpless for 3 months and then still healing for several more months after that. Kendall was the best nurse and friend I could have ever asked for during that difficult time. He did anything and everything for me. Now, I am not going to say that he didn't whine at times or fuss about having to help me so much, but he did everything I asked (except get me the bell I wanted so I could ring for help) and then some. My Mammaw told me that anyone who can put up with me (I am not a good patient...very whiny) and still stick around will be with me forever! I love you, Kendall! Thanks for being such a great husband and friend!

Brrrrrrr! It's cold!

Bubba thinks he has to sit in front of the little space heater every time he comes in from outside to thaw out! He will sit there until he quits shivering then goes on about his busy day of sleeping and eating!

We had Christmas with my immediate family at my parent's cabin in Carmack (outside of Vaiden) this weekend! We all had a great time. It was wonderful to take time to slow down and relax with the people we love the most!

Happy Birthday Christian!

Our nephew Christian (Kendall's sister's son) had his birthday party at Gatty Town recently! He had a great time even though it may not show from the pictures (he is very shy!) Thanks for inviting us!

Auston and Alexia

Here are some cute pics of Auston and Alexia (my niece and nephew) from a while back. I was trying to get a picture of Auston's two missing front teeth, but he would not let me!! Alexia is getting so big and talking so much! I think her hair is going to be curly like her Aunt Mim's!

Kendall and I volunteered to babysit his cousin's children Friday night! We had a great time with them! They are so much fun and very entertaining. We have NO toys at our house so we had to get creative with the laundry baskets (which kept them very entertained!)

Tagged by Nicole!

I was tagged by Nicole to grab the closest book.

The Rules!!!!* Grab the nearest book.* Open the book to page 56.* Find the fifth sentence.* Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your blog along with these instructions.* Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.* Tag five other people to do the same.

Ok well I don't have 5 people that Nicole hasn't already tagged, but I am going to do my part. The closest book to me is a book from one of my grad school classes this summer. It is titled Curriclum Development: A Guide To Practice. Sounds exciting, huh? The sentence is about classroom ownership. It states, " At the most structured end of an ownership continuum in a classroom, the teacher has total access to any arear or space in the room, the students "own" no space." As you can tell for the quote, this was my least favorite class this summer!!

Blog neglect!

Ok ok! I know I have not been the most faithful blogger! The first month of school is always crazy especially when you teach Kindergarten! And that is pretty much what I have been doing since my last blog....teaching! I have a great class this year and am excited about the potential of my new students. Today, Kendall and I went to ride around the deer camp that Kendall joined in Simpson County. He also wanted to teach me to shoot a gun which I wasn't to thrilled about, but I have to say that it was pretty fun (especially because I was good at it.) I was shooting coke cans with a 22 riffle and hit the cans 15 out of 16 times!! I think I missed my calling as a sniper! I might go take the hunter's ed course Kendall has been trying to talk me into after all! I am posting a cute picture of Bubba also!!

P.S. Some of you may have heard that I fell at my house again last week...it is true! But I am doing much better. I did not hurt my leg but really messed my back up. I am still sore but it gets better everyday. And YES I do think my house is trying to kill me! The wheelchair ramp Bubba is standing on is where I fell. Kendall tore it down the next day!

Here Comes the Bride...

Today my parents and I went to Madisonville, LA to attend one of my best friend's wedding. Tiffany and I have been friends since the sixth grade, and I was honored she invited me to her wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and the reception was a blast. Tiffany looked gorgeous! Congrats Tiffany and Ty!

My Favorite Little Guy!

Wednesday I went to my mom's house to get help with some school work and got to play with my favorite little guy ever, my nephew Auston! He wouldn't let me take a picture of him, but I snapped this one while he was playing. He is getting so big...He is starting Kindergarten in August! He really is the funniest kid I know, and I love him to death!
